Mismatched and inconsistent regulations are adding to already ballooning cyber security costs for companies without meaningfully reducing the risks of cyber attacks, a new report says.

One-size-fits-all mandates incur unnecessary costs for organisations, slow down resilience efforts, and divert resources away from actually mitigating risks, according to the report by the GSMA, a global mobile network trade body, published on Wednesday.
