Big Four eyes 50 new roles for FDEs, a term popularised by Palantir
EY is recruiting Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) to help clients scale AI into production – as systems integrators and consultancies come under more pressure to embed highly skilled technical teams to deliver AI value.
The professional services firm, one of the ‘Big Four’, told The Stack that it was hiring an initial 45-50 new FDEs, but may scale recruitment in future. The term is a fancy one for a technical contractor, embedded at a client.
EY declined to break out salary ranges.
The FDE role was most visibly popularised by Palantir, which has won plaudits from customers for its hands-on help doing the heavy lifting of getting initial value from its data platform, which is not easy to configure.
