The FBI has taken control of two hacking platforms used to connect thousands of devices and virtual servers to an obfuscation network used by reportedly state-backed Chinese hacking groups.
The Justice Department (DoJ) and FBI continued a raid on cyberactivity connected to China by seizing domains connected to the QScan and QTRouter platforms they said were used to target critical infrastructure.
A DoJ press release said the groups were run by a group called QTFY and used to inject “thousands” of internet-of-things devices around the world and hide offensive cyber activity against groups including NASA, the DoJ, and the Federal Reserve.
