Brussels, Berlin, Heathrow all impacted.
American defense firm Collins Aerospace this morning admitted that “cyber-related disruption” has impacted its electronic check-in MUSE software – causing chaos at Heathrow and major European airports.
The company is owned by RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense firm – which is also the parent of Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon.
The outage has stopped passengers from using self-service check-in kiosks or baggage systems underpinned by the MUSE software – which Collins Aerospace describes as deployable “on site, in the cloud [AWS], or a hybrid of both to align with your technology roadmap.”
