Killer AI: Yours for $50 per million output tokens and a side of CTO ennui

The Stack writes for sober people like the CIOs, CTOs, CISOs and SVPs running enterprise technology programmes at large banks, defense organisations, or pharmaceutical companies. We also speak to them regularly at private events. These deeply experienced adults have typically seen more than a few hype cycles come and go.

They’ve raised a wry eyebrow as people claim that cartoons of apes are the very future of finance; sometimes learned the hard way that lifting and shifting onto the public cloud is a recipe for nasty bill shock; been told that “data is the new oil” too many times to count (indeed: typically polluted and expensive to refine), and smiled politely as someone sells them another “military-grade encrypted,” “single pane of glass.”

But meanwhile, “pssssst, try the enterprise-ready version of the apocalypse machine for just $50 per million output tokens” (and can we have another 100 nuclear power station-equivalents in the UK alone, to power this nascent death star please? It might also cure cancer...)
