Leonardo is continuing its cybersecurity expansion with the acquisition of UK-based endpoint and cloud security company Becrypt, giving it a bigger foothold with the UK government.

The defence and aerospace business said the deal will enhance its position in the “UK and Five Eyes cyber defences domain” by taking on Becrypt’s business with critical national infrastructure (CNI).

Leonardo CEO Roberto Cingolani said the deal supports its “strategy to build resilient and sovereign cybersecurity in Europe that overcomes current technological fragmentation…
