MongoDB has eked impressive performance improvements out of its core database engine with the release of MongoDB 8.3 this month – which it boasts can handle up to 45% more reads, 35% more writes, 15% more ACID transactions, and 30% more complex operations than 2024's v8.0.
The data platform firm provides a multicloud DBaaS with various AI and security bells and whistles for its document model database – and increasingly reframes its database as an all-singing foundation for AI stacks. With workloads changing, it had to drive performance improvements.
