Anthropic says Mythos Preview can develop an N-day exploit in hours versus weeks of expert hacking, with exploits costing less than $2,000 in tokens.

It tested this against a series of previously published bugs, including 21 from Microsoft, and developed exploits for 18 of them – the first in 31 minutes.

(Redmond had marked exploitation “less likely” or "unlikely" for 14 of these.)

The claims came in a June 8 report from Anthropic’s Red Team on the ability of frontier models to rapidly reverse patches to develop exploits for N-days, a class of previously known vulnerabilities.
