Lynda Petherick only joined UK clothing brand New Look to help them find a new CIO in April 2024, but she was having “such a lovely time” that the job became permanent.
Almost two years later, the Accenture and Barclays alumn is both COO and CIO for the company, which collected $929 million in revenue in 2025. Her responsibilities span the retail company's tech strategy, transformation, ESG, and procurement operations at tense time in fashion.
“Fashion businesses are being radically transformed right now,” she tells The Stack, “we [now] have data and technology companies who make clothes."
"When that happens it’s not surprising to learn that you have to make sure that data and tech are also an absolute core enabler to your business.”
