Bot activity surpassed human activity in internet traffic flowing through Cloudflare’s network for the first time, but CEO Matthew Prince says it's ready to ride the AI wave and investors appear to agree.

In a Q2 earnings call on Thursday, Cloudflare executives said non-human traffic had grown far faster than expected and could outnumber human activity by 1,000x in five years, presenting a monetisation opportunity.

CEO Prince said new services like an agentic wallet were: “setting the foundation to be able to say, how do we charge agents what will be a very, very small fee, fractions of a penny for every request that goes through.”

According to Cloudflare data, bots currently account for 60.5% of HTTP requests to HTML content.
