Italian holding company Bending Spoons is buying startup Airtable for $1.285 billion, five years after the low-code software company achieved an $11 billion valuation.

The all-cash deal will see the application and spreadsheet-building platform added to Bending Spoons’ broad portfolio after it struggled to maintain success through the AI boom.

Bending Spoons CEO Luca Ferrari said Airtable had an ARR of around $480 million and added: “We’re committed to investing in Airtable for the long run, and doubling down on its core strength: bringing teams and workflows together in one flexible workspace.”
