Editors note: Earlier in 2026 The Stack's Edward Targett attended a private briefing with the global CISO of a heavily regulated firm of $100+ billion annual revenue scale. They told us that "Bring Your Own Cloud" or BYOC was now their preferred SaaS deployment model. Why? They had concerns about the security posture of many SaaS providers. BYOC, they told us, let them bring SaaS "engines in the cloud control plane that we protect" and "a significant majority" of their SaaS partners had BYOC on their roadmap.
