While giving evidence during a government inquiry on the UK’s AI goals, a Microsoft VP said there was a lack of clarity around the UK’s AI plans and shed light on grid connectivity issues.
Microsoft’s VP Hugh Milward, who leads corporate, external and legal affairs in the UK, told the gathered MPs, “We are not able to stand up a one gigabyte data centre in the UK.”
“We do need to right-size our ambitions for what we want to do with technology and data centers to the supply of energy that we've got," he added later.
