Welcome to The Stack’s One To Watch. Every week we pick out a notable startup and go deep on what they’re building, why they’re building it, and the trials behind it all.
Throughout the current AI boom, security has been a major concern, but OpenAI’s disclosure that one of its models had breached a sandbox during testing and hacked Hugging Face brought a whole new wave of attention to the issue, particularly as the capabilities and access of AI agents grows.
After his success creating the open source software signing tool Sigstore to help address supply chain security, Luke Hinds turned his attention to agentic security and co-founded nolabs around the open source nono tool for agentic sandboxing.
Since launching at the end of 2025 as Always Further, the company has raised $1.8 million and gained supporters in companies such as Datadog and Okta.
CEO Hinds sat down with The Stack during Open Source Summit Europe in Prague to discuss nono’s different approach to sandboxing, designing easy-to-use tools for the complex topic of agentic security, and navigating industry misunderstandings.
