AI agents like Claude Code and Codex have transformed software engineering workflows. As of 2026, Google reports that 75% of new code is written by AI agents, while Anthropic’s CFO claims that over 90% of the lab’s code is produced by Claude.

Jasper, one of the first marketing tech companies to commercialize generative AI, built early iterations of its content generation platform with GPT-3, but has since undergone a shift. Instead of maintaining a platform that produces AI-generated content, it now provides AI agents to execute marketing workflows end-to-end, and even produces most of its code with AI agents.

Timothy Young, CEO of Jasper, told The Stack that when the company first started with generative AI there wasn’t any notion of a coding agent,  the company worked with a more “traditional methodology” toward building SaaS software.

“Today, it could not be more different right? Almost 100% of our code is written by agents,” Young said. “Our engineering team members and our product teams and design teams are really building the system that is writing the code,” he said, noting Jasper’s engineers are more focused on judgement architecture decisions, than writing any one piece of code.
