SAP is adding another AI platform to its portfolio and acquiring eight-year-old Belgian startup TechWolf and its proprietary context graph data model for analysing skills assets and AI opportunities in a business.
The software company said it had signed an agreement with TechWolf on Tuesday, bringing its 2026 acquisition count to four, following prior deals for Reltio, Dremio, and tabular AI startup Prior Labs.
Manoj Swaminathan, CPO for SAP Autonomous Suite, said the technology would boost its Joule AI assistant in HR scenarios: “TechWolf’s proprietary context graph for skills and work provides an excellent grounding layer for agent queries regarding work and skills planning and talent management.”
SAP, which closed Q2 with €3 billion ($3.8 billion) in free cash flow, did not disclose the value of the deal, but TechWolf CEO Andreas De Neve said it would be the largest acquisition of a VC-backed Belgian software company.
TechWolf last publicly raised $42.75 million for a Series B round in June 2024.
