Cloudflare’s CEO Matthew Prince wasn’t the only tech executive wondering aloud what the heck an “induced atmospheric vibration” was as Spain and Portugal were plunged into darkness on Monday.

The term was one given by Portuguese grid operator REN as an explanation for Europe’s worst power outage in memory; but two days later, with electricity supplies restored, debate continues to rage about the cause.

Spanish judge Jose Luis Calama has now demanded that the national cyber agency and the power grid operator present reports on how the blackout occurred. He also made a similar request to the police.
