The UK Government was “really new” to the breadth of the country’s cyber dependence when it came to power last year, the director of GCHQ has revealed as she encouraged more international collaboration on cybersecurity.

Speaking at the Cyber UK 2025 event, alongside cyber leads from Germany, Japan and Singapore, Anne Keast-Butler described welcoming the government’s new set of ministers as “an opportunity and challenge.”
