The Bank of England (BoE) wants to optimise how it splits workloads across on-premises and cloud environments and improve its “FinOps” as it does so.

(FinOps is shorthand for “Cloud Financial Operations”; business practices for optimising enterprise cloud spend and ensuring financial accountability.)

The central bank revealed the priority this week, saying that it is “keen to improve consumption based spend and reporting and to be able to make strategic TCO (total cost of ownership) decisions on location of workloads.”
