Atlassian will harvest some customer data by default as part of a new data collection policy, with only its highest-paying users able to opt-out.

The enterprise software company, best known for its project management tools Jira and Confluence, explained its new approach ahead of the changes, which will take effect on August 17, 2026.

Users' data will be used to help “improve our apps and AI experiences for all customers.”
