After breaking its Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and Hyper-V hypervisor services with its record September Patch Tuesday release, Microsoft has released an emergency update to patch the bugs.
Out-of-band update KB5129194 was published 14 September with patches for two CVEs, neither known to be exploited, but it was the fixes for known issues with RDS, Hyper-V, and USB Audio that brought scrutiny.
The update said RDS had become unstable in affected environments and caused RDP connection and sign-in failures, and issues with unresponsive servers during Remote Desktop sessions, while the Hyper-V issue led to problems when sharing a host folder between some virtual machines.
Microsoft had already acknowledged the issues on Friday, shortly after releasing the September update.
